After retiring in 2018, Cheryl Roberts Oliver began a new chapter as an independent writing coach and editor with Davis Creative Publishing Partners in 2019. As the business grew and collaborative anthologies became increasingly popular, she became the Lead Writing Coach & Editor, guiding writers from early drafts to completed books.
A Career Dedicated to Writers
Before founding Singular Moments Press, Cheryl built a strong foundation in the publishing industry, gaining firsthand insight into what publishers value, how editors shape manuscripts, and what it takes to turn an idea into a meaningful finished work. Today, she brings that experience to every writer she coaches.
Where Passion Meets Purpose
Writing has always been Cheryl's way of making sense of the world. Poetry, especially, has carried her through life's most challenging and rewarding moments. After returning to her western roots in 2022, she turned her creative focus to her own poetry while continuing to coach and mentor individual authors as a developmental editor.
